About Us Education, beyond the skills and drills is the key to a successful experience for the kids, the parents and the coaches! Often, the only requirement to become a volunteer coach is to check a box on a form. We recognize that without our volunteer coaches, we would not have any sports programs at the grade school level. However, with our volunteer coaches receiving the Coaching Concepts training course, we have far better programs! The success of our grade school programs starts with our volunteer coaches. Kids depend on their coaches, the parents depend on the coaches, and the athletic associations depend on the coaches. As parents and athletic association board members, we owe it to our kids to provide the very best volunteer coach. This means we must take the steps to educate our volunteer coaches beyond the skills and drills of a given sport. The process of coaching is a delicate balance of skill knowledge, interpersonal relationships, understanding the concept of "program", insight to a child's developmental stages, an ability to deliver an effective and positive set of instructions on a consistent basis, maintaining discipline, managing practices and games, and many other educational techniques. As parents and members of athletic associations we owe it to our kids to provide an educated volunteer coach for all of our teams. Volunteer coaches come from all walks of life and most volunteer coaches have never taken a child development class. Coaching Concepts recognizes that fact and is focused on the development of our volunteer coaches. Coaching Concepts believes that, through the education of our volunteer coaches, we can provide the necessary coaching tools for our new coaches, help our more experienced coaches evaluate their approach and curb the over-the-top coach. Coaching Concepts has trained over 10,000 coaches with extraordinarily positive results. We are looking for an opportunity to help you (as an individual) or your coaches (if you are an athletic association board member).
